Premium Refund Frequently Asked Questions

In these uncertain times, our insurance company partners recognize how important it is to be there for our insurance customers. Due to the recent change in driving behaviors, there are fewer people out on the road — resulting in fewer auto accidents. Since the risk of auto insurance claims has been reduced, our insurance company partners are refunding a percentage of the premium to reflect the lower risk.

The individual refund for each policyholder will differ depending on which of our insurance company partners provides you with auto insurance. Subject to regulatory approval:

  • MAPFRE Insurance Staying Home Refund – will return 15% of April and May premium to voluntary personal auto policyholders in Massachusetts. On average, most policyholders will receive a premium credit of approximately $40.

  • Arbella Here. For Good.® Give Back Program – will provide a credit equal to 20% of your auto premium for three months – April, May and June 2020. These savings would result in an estimated average of $60 per vehicle, and customers with multiple vehicles on their policy could see significant savings.

  • Quincy Mutual Stay at Home Auto Premium Refund – will return an average of 20% of the April and May’s premiums.
You do not need to take any action to receive your refund. If you are eligible, you will automatically receive your refund.

Your policy balance or a refund check if your policy is paid in full will be issued within 60-90 days.
